GCD Sleep Out

On Thursday 4th November the GCD team will be taking part in Ipswich Sleep Out 2021.

The event which requires all participants to spend the night sleeping outside (whatever the weather!) will take part at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road Stadium, and is being organised by The Benjamin Foundation whose mission it is to end youth homelessness.

The Benjamin Foundation provide a home and support to over 100 vulnerable young adults each night. They give young people stability and support their education, training and help develop life skills so they can go on to forge an independent life.

We recognise that Sleep Out is not the same as the real hardship faced by rough sleepers but it is going to give team GCD the opportunity to see for themselves what it might feel like to be homeless.

As well as building awareness of the issue of homelessness in Suffolk, team GCD will be doing our best to help raise the much-needed funds The Benjamin Foundation need to continue to deliver the work they do.
